Paid parking in Cluj is organized into several zones radiating out from the center. The closer you are to Piața Unirii, the higher the hourly rate and the shorter the maximum stay.
How to pay
- SMS — send a message with your plate number to the short code listed on the sign in the zone you’re parked in.
- App — most locals use an app that lets you start/stop parking remotely.
- Parking meter — coins and cards accepted in most central zones.
Residency parking
If you live in one of the paid zones, you can apply for a residency permit that lets you park in your street/block for a flat annual fee. You’ll need your ID, proof of address, and the car registration certificate. The exact list and fees are in the tables above — those are pulled from the official source.
Fines
Parking without a valid ticket typically results in a fine issued on the spot. The fine is cheaper if paid within a few days of issuance.
